Painting The Sacred Within: 

I adore this book. It is a rare combination of books -- both a delight for the eye as well as the creative spirit. I love the visual bounty of this book -- just flipping through the pages and taking in Faith and Mati's gorgeous photos, artwork and colors lifts my spirits and makes me feel more connected to the sacred, hopeful parts of myself. The demos and instructions are also beautifully written, practical and fun! I can't wait to dive into abstract painting with abandon and joy with these two teachers as my guides.

It's all there: Beautiful photography, inspiration for both on the canvas and off, clear step-by-step tutorials, and projects that I actually want to make. I love this book! It is full of beautiful images and helpful step-by-step photos to explain each project, technique or creative process. The projects are fun and great for beginners to advanced artists. I'm inspired by each project and I love that there are also student examples throughout the book as well, showing a variety of interpretations of each project. I've really enjoyed diving into this book and each time I try a new technique, I can feel myself growing creatively! :) Thank you Faith and Mati!

Ok, I am sort of addicted to this genre of book, but really, I just love, love, LOVE this book!!! It is over the top, right where I wanted to go to create. Almost like these women could read my soul and put it out in a book. It seems like the still place of peace in my life has disappeared and this book is my path to regain it. I did an awesome painting retreat with Faith & Mati and have taken several online classes with Mati, so I was super happy to get my hands on this book. My painting practice is more like art therapy and this book is perfect for it. This book has a clear, inviting energy, and every page is filled with gorgeous imagery. The art lessons are appealing - they make sense and are broken down into easy-to-follow steps. I also really loved how this book celebrates the friendship between artists/co-authors Mati and Faith, and they brought in guest artists to contribute artwork. I think it's really inspiring that they are providing an example of collaboration in the creative community.

This is such a gorgeous book! I just want to dive into all the colors. I love the prompts and step-by-step instructions ... Just enough to start me off and let my soul take me somewhere magical. The mandalas and animals were especially meaningful for me... I'm not an artist but feel such a strong pull to try my hand at creating now.

The beginning of a new creative path in my life. I bought this book to start painting and I'm drawn into abstracts that also have some symbols. To paint as a form of therapy. And since I can't allocate funds right now to attend one of their workshops this is the next best thing.
All that it took for me to have a beautiful and unique painting hanging(soon) in my living room was an old canvas from a charity shop and an inexpensive box of acrylics.
The best part of the book is the prompts you cut and use randomly to generate new techniques.
