MY HEART BLOSSOMED OPEN AND WAS FILLED WITH COLOR AND A WARMTH I’LL TREASURE ALL OF MY DAYS.
"Two years ago today I landed in Marrakech, Morocco for 10 life changing days. My time began with a women’s art retreat with Abstract Bliss Retreats and ended with 3 days exploring the city solo. I loved every minute of my adventure, here are some highlights… My matching dress and rug moment, the friendships formed, the Majorelle Gardens, playing with watercolor, the color and detail everywhere, mint tea, late night giggles with my roomie, rug shopping, our cozy raid, and the vibrant people! My heart blossomed open and was filled with color and a warmth I’ll treasure all my days. I dream of the day I can go back."

We will be staying at the most magical place...Riad Yasmine
GRAB A TEA AND WE'LL SHOW YOU AROUND...
NESTLED IN ITS OWN PRIVATE GARDEN OASIS, RIAD YASMINE IS A STYLISH, CHARMING AND HOME-LIKE BOUTIQUE RETREAT THAT IS LOCATED WITHIN MARRAKECH’S MEDINA, IT IS THE PERFECT LOCATION FROM WHICH TO EXPLORE MARRAKECH ON FOOT. TWO GUEST ROOMS ARE SINGLE OCCUPANCY, OTHER GUEST ROOMS ARE DOUBLE OCCUPANCY.
The Riad is a former private home with moorish rooms and suites of refined architectural beauty down to the smallest detail. During our stay we’ll take over the entire Riad as our home away from home. It combines authentic charm, discreet luxury and a contemporary atmosphere. Enjoy the different relaxation spaces the Riad offers. From the roof top terrace enjoy breath-taking views of the Medina and the snow capped atlas mountains in the distance. The wide solarium is equipped with lounge chairs, towels, hats, giving you the option to unwind in the sun or in the shade of a parasol.
In addition to the spacious lounge areas, there are seven double-occupancy, and two single occupancy, guest bedrooms each with spacious en-suite Moroccan tiled bathrooms. The roof top and other common areas will act as our central meeting space for relaxing, gathering, art making or eating. The carved stucco and multiple balconies throughout, creates a beautiful exotic atmosphere within the internal courtyard and centrally located tiled swimming pool surrounded by lounges. The beautiful dining room on the ground floor, which contains a large mirror reflecting the patio, is framed by a living room in the Moroccan tradition with lounge and fireplace, as well as an equipped library. Attention to detail emerges at every turn in the hand-painted decorative ceilings and intricately carved plaster throughout the hotel on the balconies and fireplace in the main dining room, as well as in the caftan-fabrics converted into cushions.
Our Luxurious All Inclusive Itinerary

At the end of our time together you'll leave refreshed & resorted, with new ways of seeing and tons of new skills under your belt to invigorate your painting practice back home! Many of our painting lessons will be based on our bestselling book Painting The Sacred Within and our popular watercolor e-course In the Flow!

I STILL FEEL THE ECHOS OF THE RETREAT’S IMPRINT ON ME YEARS LATER.
"Thinking about my time in Morocco and all the luscious patterned rugs and textiles, the textures of the Medina walls and the incredible pink sky as it stormed on the night I arrived in Marrakech. The beauty I soaked up on my retreat there with kindred spirits Mati and Faith, and some soul-searching solo travel afterwards. I still feel the echos of its imprint on me years later. It was a beautiful combination of the soul of Morocco seeping into my heart and these women helping me to reawaken parts of myself, and the power of reclaiming my independence."

We will send you a supply list two months before the start of the retreat. Art supplies will be minimal and will include two 8 x 10 cold-pressed watercolor paper pads, a travel watercolor set full of your favorite colors and a roll of watercolor brushes. We also recommend that you bring an extra bag (a collapsible duffel) to bring home your goodies you have collected on our shopping trips. Morocco truly has some of the best shopping in the world! The temperatures will vary, so don't forget layers, pack a bathing suit, sweater and a light jacket!
-
We recommend modest clothing for your time in Morocco. During our previous visits, we felt most comfortable in clothing that kept us covered from our knees and elbows up. Long skirts, dresses, pants and layers will work fine! While Morocco is a Muslim country, women are not expected to cover their heads in public. You will see many people of all different styles of dress throughout Morocco. We found this article very helpful on what to pack.
-

THEY HAVE CRAFTED SUCH A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE IN EVERY DETAIL; ONE WHICH I WILL CARRY WITH ME FOR A LIFETIME.
"After two years of missing out on travel due to the pandemic, I jumped at the chance to sign up for the Marrakech retreat and it was one of the best life decisions I have ever made. I knew that it would mean unlocking two bucket-list items at once: visiting Morocco and attending an art retreat. What I didn’t expect was the absolute joy of sharing those experiences in the company of such an amazing group of women. Faith and Mati are the perfect guides and teachers. They have crafted such a beautiful experience in every detail; one which I will carry with me for a lifetime. And their art instruction, along with the energy and beauty of Marrakech, has poured new inspiration into my art practice."
